Spotlighted: vivo V30 5G with Aura Light Gen 3 Sample Portrait Pictures

The vivo V30 5G has an upgraded Aura Light technology – the built-in mini ring light in vivo’s V-Series smartphones. It’s now larger, smarter, and emits softer fill light for better portrait shots.

I captured several sample pictures using the phone’s 50MP VCS True Color camera with and without Aura Light.

Larger, Softer Aura Light

The bigger but softer Aura Light makes portraits look brighter without the harsh look of normal LED flash in other smartphones.

Notice the even lighting of my face in the first sample picture in contrast to the harsh shadows of the nearby street light in the second picture. By default, the phone applies “Natural” beautification to Portrait shots which look pleasing but can be customized to your own preference.

Distance-Sensitive Aura Light

The new Aura Light technology is now distance sensitive. It can automatically adjust the Aura Light brightness for photographing near or far subjects.

This results in consistent picture quality whether you’re capturing a close-up Portrait or a basic full-body shot.

Smart Color Temperature Adjustment

Aside from automatically adjusting its brightness based on the subject’s distance, the new Aura Light on the vivo V30 5G can also adjust the color temperature based on the scene.

It can adjust from white to orange fill light both manually and automatically. This makes sunset portraits look warm while pictures with blue sky backgrounds look natural or cool.

Notice the frame used in these sample pictures too. The color is automatically customized by the device based on the color palette of the pictures.

High-quality Ultra-wide Selfies

The vivo V30 5G is also equipped with a similarly sharp 50MP selfie camera that can capture high quality selfies even in low light situations.

Aura Light is only present for the rear cameras but it uses the screen as fill light to make selfies look pleasing. It’s a wide-angle camera that can capture a large portion of the scene or even a large group selfie.
