Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter Goes Official – Show what’s on Your Smartphone, Laptop or Tablet on Your TV

Microsoft officially unveiled its own wireless display adapter dongle that enables wirelessly mirroring the display of any device on your TV.

Unlike the competing Google Chromecast, the Microsoft Wireless Display Adaptor works with any device that has Miracast. Just plug the dongle on your TV’s HDMI and USB ports then pair your smartphone, laptop or tablet.

There’s a disadvantage though. It is almost twice more expensive than Google Chromecast at $59.95. That’s around ₱2,600 although there’s no word on its availability in the Philippines yet. It’s currently available for pre-order in the US and Canada.

Online stores like KimStore and Lazada might get this device soon so you’ll just have to wait.

Meanwhile, imagine what you can do with this device during a meeting or presentation of your bright idea! You can even use it in extended desktop mode so that you can play a video on the larger screen while doing another thing on your laptop or tablet or use PowerPoint’s presentation mode.

Gamers might not enjoy this that much though because it still suffers in some lags and video tearing issues. You’re better off with a wired HDMI connection.
