Instagram to Introduce Advertisements in the Form of Photos and Videos

Instagram with Ads, you like?

Facebook’s photo and video sharing platform Instagram announced that they will soon allow photo and video advertisements to appear in your Instagram feed.

The move is part of expanding Facebook’s claim in the growing mobile advertisement market. However, many users are already warning that Instagram should not mess this up.

We’ve seen how Facebook pissed off a lot of users when it first introduced ads on its mobile apps. Instagram might also suffer a similar response from users who expect to see photos of their friends only.

Our aim is to make any advertisements you see feel as natural to Instagram as the photos and videos many of you already enjoy from your favorite brands,” Instagram stated in its blog post announcing the move.

These advertisements will also come slowly and you have the option to hide it and give your feedback. That will tell Instagram what type of advertisements are tolerated by users.

Lastly, these advertisements will show in the US first before expanding to other countries.
