Foldable Smartphones Expected to Reach 55 Million Units by 2025

According to a study by market research firm Counterpoint, the global foldable smartphone market is expected to reach 55 million units by 2025.

Today, there are already around 19 million foldable smartphones in the market but this will grow to almost 37 million units next year, 2024, and 55 million units in 2025. Hence, Counterpoint’s data suggests a robust growth in this segment.

Foldable Smartphones in Asia Pacific Region

In 2022, China held a commanding 26% market share of the global foldable smartphone market. Likewise, the whole Asia Pacific Region or APAC has seen a 50% year-on-year growth of foldable smartphones from 2021 to 2022.

This has spurred brands like OPPO to continue innovating and releasing new foldable smartphones including the OPPO Find N2 Flip.
