Xiaomi Launches Mi Notebook Air Laptops

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is now a laptop maker too! It just launched the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air in two variants.

Both laptops have a slim, lightweight and all metal body with minimalist design. The Mi logo is found below the screen with no other marking at the back.

The high end variant has a 13.3 inch full HD display and powered by an Intel Core i5-6200U processor running at 2.3GHz with turbo speed of up to 2.7GHz. There’s also an NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics chip and 8GB of RAM.

It has 256GB of built-in SSD storage while a hard disk can be added by a Xiaomi technician if more storage space is required. Battery life is said to be 9.5 hours.

Minimalist design.

Meanwhile, the more affordable variant comes with a 12.5 inch full HD display. However, it only has an Intel Core M3 processor with no dedicated graphics card and merely 4GB of RAM.

Its built-in storage is also lesser at 128GB but the battery life is longer – 11.5 hours!

The 12.5 inch Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air has fewer ports.

Both variants run on Windows 10 with a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer, Dolby Audio and backlit keyboard but no DVD drive.

The 13.3 inch Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air costs $750 which is a little over ₱35,000 while the smaller 12.5 inch model has a price tag of $520 or a little under ₱25,000.

Availability here in the Philippines hasn’t been announced but some retailers and online shops will surely offer these laptops here.
