Cherry Mobile now has its own SIM card called Cherry Prepaid which sells for ₱29. There’s a bonus load of ₱30, free access to Facebook and 50 free texts to all networks all valid for two days.

It provides 2G and 3G connectivity and a 4G LTE compatible version will follow soon. The company partnered with Globe Telecom to provide the signal to these SIM cards. Hence, you can expect the same signal quality with Globe, TM and even ABS-CBN Mobile.

Cherry Prepaid SIM cards are dual cut.

It’s not yet clear what the advantages of Cherry Prepaid are. Apparently, these will be bundled with Cherry Mobile phones. For example, a Cherry Mobile CP1 with this SIM card costs ₱399.00 only.

A new Android phone called Cherry Mobile Astro is also bundled with a Cherry Prepaid SIM and costs ₱999.00.

Those who buy these bundles will receive ₱50 load every month for three months. That’s a good deal, right?
