Motorola to Resume Operations in the Philippines this Month

by Daniel Gubalane on Jul 09, 2015

Moto fans, your favorite smartphone brand known for devices such as the Nexus 5, Moto X and the Moto 360 smartwatch will make a comeback here in the Philippines before July 2015 ends.

Motorola ceased operation in the country in 2011 shortly before Google’s acquisition of the company. Lenovo bought the company from the search giant last year and enabled this expansion to other markets. Hence, we should all thank Lenovo for this news.

The distribution of Motorola products in the country will be handled by the same company that services Alcatel and Apple.

There are no details yet on which smartphones will be available for Filipinos. Hopefully, flagship and affordable smartphone will both be offered.

An event is scheduled at the middle of July so you’ll hear more about Motorola’s comeback in the Philippines after that.
