Owners of any Asus Zenfone variant rejoice!

You now have an official Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update from the good folks at Asus.

The Android 4.4 Kitkat update for Asus Zenfone 4 was announced first on Facebook and Twitter while the one for Zenfone 5 and 6 were confirmed in a forum. However, it’s currently available only in Taiwan and China and might take a few days before reaching the Philippines.

The Android 4.4 Kitkat for the Zenfones will come as an OTA (Over the Air) update but at a huge size of 456MB. Find a reliable Wi-Fi network first before updating or make sure you’re on an unlimited mobile data promo.

Some of the new features that will be added after the Kitkat update are “calls harassment interception” or simply call blocking, new video effects and dual card standby. Of course, you’ll also enjoy all the Kitkat goodness such as the ART runtime.

The update will also fix issues in phone number search, FM Radio, What’s Next app and notifications.
