Huawei Nova 5T Sample Pictures: Quad Camera in Action!

by Daniel Gubalane on Oct 07, 2019

Here are several pictures shot using the Huawei Nova 5T‘s quad cameras. There are normal shots, ultra-wide shots, selfies, night mode pictures, and portraits.

The phone’s quad cameras are composed of a 48 Megapixel main camera, 16 Megapixel ultra-wide camera, 2 Megapixel macro camera, and 2 Megapixel depth sensor. Meanwhile, its single selfie camera is 32 Megapixels.

Normal mode with AI

Let’s start with this normal picture of the Ormoc City Museum. The phone’s AI identified this scene as “Blue Sky” and applied appropriate enhancements. Did you notice the bird?

Ultra-wide

This is another photo of the same scene using the ultra-wide mode. There’s a bit of a “fish-eye” effect but the entire building is now inside the frame. This is very useful in landscape photography and I’m happy that it looks just as good as the previous picture.

Me in normal mode only.

Here’s how a picture of a person looks like when shot with the Huawei Nova 5T. I turned off the AI Beauty feature for this one.

Portrait mode

Here’s another picture of me. This time, I used the Portrait mode to test the phone’s capability in producing realistic bokeh effect or blurred background. Notice how nice the subject separation especially in my head where I can see hair strands!

Stuffed toy

Just another photo shot in normal mode using the Huawe Nova 5T.

Let’s eat?

This is the natural depth of field of the Huawei Nova 5T’s camera. It can also capture vivid color of scenes like this.

Flower

The phone’s AI identified this as a flower and did a great job of rendering this good-looking image of a Daisy.

Macro mode

This is the same flower photographed using the Huawei Nova 5T’s super macro mode. It captured mode details of the petals but the color saturation isn’t great.

Meet Snow…

The sun was about to set when I captured this picture of our dog but it still turned out great! The AI also identified this subject as a dog.

Normal

Here’s another normal shot before we move on to night shots. Once again, we’ll compare this with the ultra-wide camera of the Huawei Nova 5T.

Ultra-wide

This is the ultra-wide version of the playground scene. It even looks brighter in this picture!

No night mode

Even without using the dedicated Night mode, the Huawei Nova 5T can already take good-looking night time pictures.

Night mode

Night mode adds more clarity and slightly brightens the image. It looks like the background has been lit up but it’s just the result of holding the phone steady for 4-6 seconds.

Without night mode

We have here another night time picture of Ormoc City’s water fountain. This was taken without using night mode.

With night mode

Once again, Night mode brightens up the image and makes the water look silky.

The Huawei Nova 5T also take good-looking selfies using its 32 Megapixel selfie camera.
