Android 9 Pie Update for Android Go Smartphones

by Daniel Gubalane on Aug 16, 2018

Android Go smartphones can have their share of the sweet Pie! Google announced that an Android 9 Pie (Go Edition) software update will be available in the fourth quarter of 2018.

This brings new features to entry level devices with as little as 1GB or 512MB of RAM and 8GB or 4GB of internal storage.

New Features of Android 9 Pie (Go Edition)

Smartphones running on Androd 9 Pie (Go Edition) have 500MB of free storage out of the box compared to smartphones with Android Oreo (Go Edition). That’s already a substantial amount for these devices.

The update also promises faster startup with security features baked in.

Moreover, a dashboard will be made available on these phones showing mobile data consumption.
