Both devices are equipped with a dual selfie camera system composed of a 16 Megapixel main camera and an 8 Megapixel secondary camera. Wide f/1.9 aperture lenses ensure good quality selfies even in low light with the novelty of bokeh effects.
Super AMOLED Display and 16MP Main Camera
While 18:9 displays are the new norm, Samsung tries to be slightly different with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The screens are still Super AMOLED and with a resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels resulting in a crisp 440 PPI pixel density.
Rounded corners, slightly curved edges and narrow bezels are present too. The Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) has a 6 inch display while the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) has a slightly smaller 5.6 inch display.
The rear camera of the two phones is pretty powerful – a 16 Megapixel shooter with an f/1.7 aperture, phase detection autofocus and even supports hyperlapse.
Octa Core Processor, 6GB RAM and Connectivity
A 2.2GHz octa core Exynos 7885 processor powers both phones. However, the Plus version comes with 6GB of RAM while the regular A8 (2018) only has 4GB.
Nevertheless, both are dual SIM smartphones with 4G LTE connectivity, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and USB Type-C for charging and data transfer.
A fingerprint sensor at the back takes care of security while power comes from a 3500mAh battery.
