Google Unifies Wallet and Android Pay into Google Pay

by Daniel Gubalane on Jan 09, 2018

After Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, there’s now a “Google Pay” that consolidates its different payment solutions into one.

It previously used Google Wallet on the web and Android Pay on Android but there’s also a Google Chrome feature that securely manages credit card information. The re-branding ensures a smooth experience regardless of platform.

Several partners now support Google Pay including the company’s own products such as YouTube Red and the Google Store.

Other services will soon have Google Pay as a payment option. It supports NFC, P2P and web-based transactions.

Payment machines in physical stores will also support Google Pay.
