Microsoft unveiled two new smartphones during the company’s event at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona – the Lumia 640 and 640 XL.

Both handsets boast affordable price tags for a large display, Lumia Denim software enhancements, 4G connectivity option and the capability to be updated to Windows 10 towards the end of 2015!

The Lumia 640 features a 5-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection against scratches.  It has an 8MP camera at the back and a 1MP dedicated selfie camera.

Powering the Lumia 640 is a quad core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM and a 2,500mAh battery.

On the other hand, the Lumia 640 XL has a larger 5.7-inch screen of the same resolution. It also has better cameras at 13MP with ZEISS optics and 5MP for the rear and front respectively.

Both smartphones come with 8GB internal storage with the option to add up to 128GB using a microSD card. The Lumia 640 XL has a higher battery capacity at 3,000mAh though.

A dual SIM 3G and dual SIM 4G LTE version of these two Lumias will be available in the Philippines.

The 3G Lumia 640 has an official SRP of €140 (~₱7,000) while its 4G version goes for €160 (~₱8,000). If you’re eyeing the 3G version of the Lumia 640 XL, that’s €190 (~₱9,500) while the 4G version has an official SRP of €220 (~₱11,000).
