Right after we shared the announcement of Meizu’s M1 Note, Asus launched another very affordable smartphone in China with an impressive set of specs.

The new Asus Pegasus X002 has an official price of around ₱5,700 when converted. It comes with a 5-inch HD display, 1.5GHz quad core processor, 2GB of RAM, 4G LTE connectivity and more.

Just like the Zenfones, the Asus Pegasus X002 also uses the Zen UI user interface on top of Android 4.4 Kitkat.

It runs on a 64-bit chipset from MediaTek with a quad core Cortex-A53 CPU all clocked at 1.5GHz, Mali-T760 MP2 GPU and 2GB of RAM. This should give this smartphone a top notch performance for its price.

There’s an 8MP camera on the back of the Asus Pegasus X002 while a 5MP front facing camera will take care of your selfies.

Asus Pegasus X002 color options.

The Asus Pegasus X002 comes with 16GB of onboard storage with a microSD card slot for more.

Its 4G LTE connectivity is only compatible with networks in China. There’s no word yet whether Asus will make this available in the Philippines with compatibility to our LTE networks.

A 2,500mAh battery powers the Asus Pegasus X002 and comes in black, white, red and gold color options.
