How to Check ATM Balance Online: A Step-by-Step Guide

by Daniel Gubalane on Oct 21, 2012

This is a step-by-step guide on how to check ATM balance online. You can check if your salary has already been deposited or simply know how much you have in your bank account without physically going to an Automatic Teller Machine.

Check ATM Balance Online Using Bancnet:

Look for the Bancnet logo in your ATM card. If it’s present, you may be able to check your ATM balance online using the Bancnet Online Balance Inquiry. Update: this method now requires the user to register to Bancnet and the list of supported banks has dropped to 17. Use the other methods below instead.

Bancnet supports several banks such as PNB, China Bank and DBP. Select your bank in the form, enter your ATM card number and choose your account type. This one is usually “Savings” unless you have a checking account.

You’ll then have to enter your PIN number. The on-screen keypad ensures

that your PIN is secure since the positions of the numbers change each time the form is re-loaded.

Click Submit and you’ll have your ATM balance. If that doesn’t work, it means your bank doesn’t support Bancnet’s online ATM balance inquiry even if they are a member of Bancnet.

Check ATM Balance Using Online Banking:

Metrobank’s online banking system.

Almost all banks have an online banking system. You’ll have to register to check your ATM balance online and even do other transactions such as fund transfer and bills payment.

Metrobank account holders have to register with Metrobank Direct while BDO customers have the BDO Online Banking. Search for your banks official website and look for the online banking registration page. This is usually labelled as “Enroll Now!”

Fill-up the registration form and ensure that the information you entered are all accurate especially your ATM card number and cellphone number. Some banks will send a code to your phone for security purposes.

After a successful registration to your bank’s online banking system, checking your ATM balance online is just a few clicks away.

Check ATM Balance Online Using Apps:

Banco de Oro’s mobile app.

Some banks already have their Android and iOS apps. This is an even more convenient way of checking your ATM balance.

Check the Apple App Store or Google Playstore and search for your bank’s name. Ensure that the app is authentic by checking the name of the developer and the comments section.

After downloading your bank’s app, register your bank account in the app. Just like in online banking, ensure that you have entered the correct details and be ready when you are sent a security code.

Conclusion

Checking your ATM balance online during this time of technological advancement is actually an easy task. You even have several options such as using Bancnet’s online inquiry form, your bank’s online banking system or their Android and iOS app.

Just make sure that you don’t fall for scams by ensuring that you are visiting the official website of your bank or using their official app.
