I was very excited when the vivo X200 FE was announced. Compact smartphones with almost flagship-level performance are hard to find nowadays.

After using the device for several weeks, here’s my full review. It includes sample pictures, gaming tests, battery life tests, performance check, and the overall experience in using this compact smartphone.

Design and Build Quality

The vivo X200 FE measures 71.8mm in width or just 2.8 inches. That’s why it fits nicely in my typically small Filipino hands. More brands should release compact smartphones like this that do not compromise on performance and other features.

Aside from the compact design, it also has a premium build quality. The front and back panels are both made from glass while the sides use metal.

Several people who’ve seen me using the vivo X200 FE commented that it looks like an iPhone. Flip the phone on its back and you’ll see the signature Aura Light circular LED flash design making it unmistakably a vivo device.

Aside from the aesthetic design, it also has water and dust resistance. It has IP68 and IP69 certifications so it should survive high pressure water jets and being submerged in freshwater like swimming pools and bathtubs.

Overall, I love its compact design, and I wish more brands would make phones like this.

Display and Audio Quality

vivo X200 FE display

The vivo X200 FE has a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1216 x 2640 pixels. It’s very sharp with a pixel density of 460 ppi which means high-res text and graphics are never pixelated.

It has flat sides, narrow bezels and a small punch-hole for the selfie camera on top. These prevent glare issues with curved-edge displays and add to the sleek vibe of the device.

The screen itself supports up to 1800nits of brightness when used under bright sunlight and 5000nits of peak brightness when viewing HDR content. It’s bright outdoors and supports eye-friendly features for prolonged use and nighttime usage.

Aside from the display quality, audio is also important for multimedia consumption. The vivo X200 FE has stereo dual speakers that sound surprisingly good for a compact phone. Of course, sound is still better when using earphones.

Performance

vivo X200 FE Genshin Impact

A MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset powers the vivo X200 FE. It’s one of MediaTek’s top-of-the-line processors first introduced in 2024 but still performs remarkably well in 2025.

Apps open quickly and scrolling across social media feeds is buttery smooth thanks also to the 120Hz refresh rate of the display. Multi-tasking and switching between apps and games is lag-free too since it has 12GB of RAM.

When it comes to gaming, the vivo X200 FE can run games like Call of Duty Mobile (CODM), PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends in the highest graphics quality. Genshin Impact also defaults to high graphics quality.

It does warm up slightly during extended gaming, but never to an uncomfortable level.

Cameras (Sample Pictures)

vivo X200 FE ZEISS cameras

The vivo X200 FE has triple rear cameras composed of a 50MP main camera, 50MP telephoto camera, and 8MP ultrawide camera.

Pictures captured by these cameras look impressive whether taken during the day or at night. Details look sharp, colors are vibrant and dynamic range is good. If you are buying the vivo X200 FE for its cameras, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth.

Artistically-inclined users will also enjoy the different picture styles including ZEISS style and textured style for even sharper-looking details. The only nitpick I have is the ultrawide camera’s obvious step down in quality compared to the two other cameras.

Sample pictures captured with the vivo X200 FE at 1x zoom, 10x zoom, and 20x zoom.

There’s no worry when zooming-in because pictures still look good at 2x, 5x, or 10x zoom! Its camera app has a dedicated Stage Mode for shooting concerts and events with up to 20x zoom that still produces images with decent quality.

Portrait Mode is another aspect where the vivo X200 FE shines. It has what’s called Multi-focal Portrait which helps you choose the appropriate framing of the subject. I found the 50mm and 85mm focal lengths to produce the best-looking portraits.

The 100mm Portrait focal length can look too zoomed. However, backing up a little results in pleasing portraits with a more comfortable demeanor from the subject.

Aside from the triple rear cameras, the vivo X200 FE also has a 50 Megapixel selfie camera. It supports 0.8x ultrawide mode as well as 2x zoom for extreme close-up selfies.

Pictures produced by the selfie camera look sharp, bright, and pleasing in terms of skin tone rendition. It’s doing a lot of processing by default though so you may want to customize the amount of beautification to your preference.

I was a bit surprised to find out that it has dual LED flash for the front camera while taking selfies at night. It helps a lot in totally dark environments and the camera also has autofocus so selfies are always in focus.

This is one of the best selfie cameras I’ve tested so far.

UI, Apps and AI Features

The vivo X200 FE runs on the Android 15 operating system with vivo’s Funtouch OS 15 software. Its user interface is clean and easy to use. There are several pre-installed apps but most of them can be uninstalled or disabled if not used.

It has what’s called AI Image Studio that includes an image expander, subject repositioning (Magic Move), reflection eraser, and the usual image eraser to smartly remove unwanted objects in pictures.

Connectivity and Security

The vivo X200 FE is a dual-SIM smartphone with 5G connectivity. It provides fast mobile internet connectivity with good signal reception. It also supports eSIM functionality for those who need it.

For security, the device has an under-display fingerprint scanner. It works well and unlocks the phone quickly.

Battery Life and Charging Time

vivo X200 FE charger

The vivo X200 FE has a 6500mAh BlueVolt battery which uses the Silicon-Carbon anode technology. It lasts a long time on a single charge. I’m usually left with around 40% battery capacity after a day of normal usage.

Heavy usage like playing CODM continuously or shooting a lot of pictures and videos drains the battery in about 7-8 hours.

Recharging the vivo X200 FE is quick despite the large battery capacity thanks to its 90W fast charging technology. It reaches 100% battery capacity in about 58 minutes.

However, it lacks wireless charging which is usually found in high-end smartphones. It would have been nice if this wasn’t the case but I can live with it since wired charging is fast.

Pricing and Competitors

The vivo X200 FE has an official price of ₱44,999 in the Philippines.

At ₱44,999, it may sound steep at first. But given its compact design, ZEISS cameras, and long battery life, it offers solid value.

The main competitors in terms of price range are the OPPO Reno14 Pro 5G, Xiaomi 15 and Samsung Galaxy S25. However, the Reno14 Pro 5G is not a compact device, the Xiaomi 15 has a smaller battery, and the Galaxy S25 has a higher suggested retail price.

Conclusion

After using the vivo X200 FE for several weeks, I highly recommend it! It’s made for business professionals and aspiring creators.

It’s a compact smartphone that easily fits in my hands but with a premium build quality, more than enough performance for my needs, long battery life, and versatile ZEISS cameras. Its portrait photography aided by AI features is impressive, just like other vivo smartphones.

There’s no wireless charging though and the screen can feel small when playing games competitively.

The vivo X200 FE is now available in vivo stores, authorized dealers, and official online stores on Shopee, Lazada, and the vivo e-store.
