Huawei’s Y7 series of smartphones have always been excellent in terms of battery life. Now, the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 continues the tradition with a 4000mAh battery while adding more modern features.
Let’s take it out of the box and see its design, accessories and initial performance.
What’s inside the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 box?
The box of the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 contains the smartphone itself, some documentations, a free phone case, SIM ejector tool, micro-USB cord and charger with a rated output of 5V/2A.
A screen protector is also included but it’s already applied to the phone’s display. Sadly, there are no free earphones inside the box.
Take note that this is just a review unit though and some freebies or promo bundles might be available from the store where you’ll buy yours.
How does the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 look and feel?
The Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 has a glossy back with a gradient color scheme (for the blue color) and the dual rear cameras on the upper left corner.
Its sides are curved and make the device easier to grip. There’s a heft to it which is a good thing since we know it’s due to the large battery.
On the front is the tall 6.21-inch display with a dewdrop notch, a small half circle cutout at the top for the front camera. However, the side bezels looks a bit too much.
My First Impressions of the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019
I’m pretty excited to test the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 smartphone in depth. Its user interface is smooth and simple upon first use although it would have been nice to have EMUI 9 instead of EMUI 8.2 out of the box.
The phone’s cameras are promising especially the 16MP front camera with its hidden front LED flash. Here are a couple of sample pictures:
Then there’s the massive battery. Knowing Huawei, this phone should be able to last two days on single charge.
Overall, I already like the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 and its price tag is reasonable at ₱9,990. What it needs to do now is impress me in the gaming tests, provide fast mobile data connectivity and show a decent charging time.
We’ll learn more about the device in my upcoming articles and full review after a thorough test. Let me know if you have questions in the comments section.
