Kingmax iKey is a Tiny USB Fingerprint Reader for Windows

by Daniel Gubalane on Oct 08, 2017

Peripheral maker Kingmax launches a fingerprint reader in a tiny USB form factor – the Kingmax iKey.

Instead of a password, it can be used to unlock a laptop, password protect a folder of sensitive files and login to social media accounts in just 0.05 seconds. It’s even secure enough to use in online shopping sites!

How to Use the Kingmax iKey

Using the Kingmax iKey is as simple as plugging it in a USB port and clicking through an installation wizard. It will then ask for the user’s fingerprint when faced with a login screen.

It’s compatible with computers running on Windows 7, 8 and 10. It’s even certified for Windows Hello, the security program of Microsoft.

Since it will be placed sideways in most laptops, the Kingmax iKey can read fingerprint inputs in 360-degrees. It can also store up to 10 fingerprints to include your other fingers or for multiple users.
