I recently published a story about Xiaomi’s comeback in the Philippines with the Mi Home PH Facebook page. However, this turned out to be FAKE.

This is according to Grimalkin Corporation, the only official authorized re-seller of Xiaomi products in the country. After investigating the issue, I now agree with them. Here are our reasons:

Signs that Mi Home PH is Fake:

First, the Mi Home PH Facebook page isn’t verified as an official brand page. This refers to the blue check icon that appears on official Facebook pages. This is usually not an issue but I should have been more careful.

Second, Mi Home PH is now selling Xiaomi products on Lazada. However, there is no Cash on Delivery option. Official brands on Lazada usually have this COD.

Third, their replies to comments on the Mi Home PH Facebook are unprofessional. One commenter asked if they are fake and they replied with a mere “Nah.”

A word of caution…

Mi fans, please beware in buying products from the Mi Home PH Facebook page as well as their Lazada page. While their products are certified as genuine, you may not be able to claim an official warranty.

I’ll be more careful from now on with claims of Xiaomi’s comeback. Maybe I am just too excited for the brand’s official return in the country. Aren’t you?
