When Cherry Mobile silently released the first smartphone named Spin in 2014, I praised it for being super cheap and having an HTC-inspired design.
Now, an upgraded version called the Cherry Mobile Spin 3G is already available in stores with slightly better features than the first one for the same price of ₱1,699.00 only!
The Cherry Mobile Spin 3G has a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 480 Pixels, 2MP rear camera with an apparently two-tone LED flash and VGA front camera. These are very basic specs but reasonable for the very low price.
A 1.3GHz dual core processor runs the show with 512MB of RAM. That pair is enough for basic tasks and casual gaming. It already comes with Android 4.4.2 Kitkat out of the box so the user interface should be smooth enough.
It’s a standard dual SIM smartphone that can connect to 3G networks for browsing the internet via mobile data. It also has Wi-Fi, FM Radio and Bluetooth.

There’s only 512MB of built-in storage space but you can use up to 32GB microSD cards for storing your photos and other files.
Here’s the problem – it is plagued by the constant quirk with Cherry Mobile devices. A mere 1,200mAh battery powers the device. Hopefully, that’s enough for it last a full day of use since its small screen and dual core processor won’t consume a lot of power.
I like the Cherry Mobile Spin 3G as a cheap Android Kitkat smartphone with 3G connectivity. How about you? Share your thoughts in the comments!
