HTC unveiled the HTC Desire 601 – a mid-range android phone with LTE connectivity as part of their growing family of smartphones.

Aside from its LTE function, HTC Desire 601 also has advanced camera features as the flagship HTC One like moving pictures and automatic montage of pictures taken in one event.

Here’s how the HTC Desire 601 looks like:

HTC Desire 601: Processor, Memory and Battery

Although HTC Desire 601 isn’t a quad core phone, it has a faster Snapdragon 400 dual core processor at 1.4GHz compared to the 1.2GHz of most quad core phones. This CPU enables the Desire 601 to connect to LTE networks.

Memory isn’t an issue with HTC Desire 601’s 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. You can also expand it up to 64GB using a microSD card.

A 2,100 mAh Lithium Polymer battery powers the Desire 601 but also sets its thickness to 9.88mm. But then again, this is a mid-range phone. HTC claims 12.8 hours of 3G talk time.

HTC Desire 601: Design, Display and Camera

HTC Desire 601 is available in three colors: black, white and red.

If you are familiar with HTC One’s home screen, HTC Desire 601 also has the feature called BlinkFeed that shows new updates from your social media or favorite blogs and websites.

Its display measures 4.5 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 540 x 960 Pixels or 245 pixels per inch. It supports up to 5 touches at the same time and has the HTC Sense user interface.

HTC Desire 601’s camera is just a 5MP shooter but features HTC Zoe and Video Highlights and BSI technology. HTC Zoe captures a 30 second mini movie of your photos while Video Highlights creates a slideshow of pictures shot at an event or according to another category with a user chosen music theme.

HTC Desire 601: Audio, Network and Connectivity Features

HTC Desire 601 is a single sim phone (ordinary micro sim). Its LTE capability is compatible with diverse networks including those in the Philippines. It can also downgrade to 3.5G, 3G or EDGE and GPRS when LTE is not available.

It has Wifi, Bluetooth 4.0, DLNA and HTC Connect. Its DLNA capability allows you to stream music and videos from your phone to your TV or PC.

Just like other HTC smartphones, Desire 601 also has HTC BoomSound enhancement with an additional advantage of dual speakers in its front side.

HTC Desire 601 Price, Availability and Freebies

There’s no word yet on the price of HTC Desire 601 but we’ll update this when its official SRP is announced. Hopefully, it’s less than that of Nokia Lumia 625 which also has LTE connectivity.
