Samsung’s Shot at Dethroning Apple’s iPad Mini

Samsung aims to get back it’s belt in the tablet arena with the announcement of the Galaxy Note 8.0. But will the feature packed Galaxy Note 8.0 enough or will it just be another Note on the display of the stores?

Galaxy Note 8.0 Specs

Processor and RAM
The Galaxy Note 8.0 boasts a powerful 1.6 GHz quad-core processor called Exynos 4 Quad. Along with its quad-core processor is a 2 GB RAM which will make its operation smooth and fluid.
Operating System
Although I would love seeing Samsung try a new OS, Galaxy Note 8.0 is operated by Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. That makes it capable of being a WiFi hotspot right out of the box and transfer files to other devices by tapping.
Screen and Sensors
Galaxy Note 8.0 will come with a stunning HD display at 1,280 x 800 pixels on an 8-inch TFT touch screen. That makes videos crisp and clear, 3D games a wonderful experience without lags and photos like surreal.
Like other Samsung products, the interface is skinned with the TouchWiz UX.
Connectivity
Apart from the basic connectivity like 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS, Galaxy Note 8.0 will also have GLONASS and LTE connectivity.
Galaxy Note 8.0 can make calls. However, It’s funny to imagine someone holding an 8-inch tablet on their ears.
Of course they can use a set of earphones.
Memory
Two versions of Galaxy Note 8.0 will be available, a 16 GB version and a 32 GB version. Both can be expanded up to 32 GB via MicroSD card.
S Pen
Galaxy Note 8.0 comes with a stylus input device called the S Pen which is basic for all the Notes.
Price
The price of the Galaxy Note 8.0 is not yet announced. I’ll update this post as soon as the price will be available.
One thing though, don’t expect it to be cheap.
