Samsung officially launched the Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition in Korea. It’s the refurbished Galaxy Note7 with a smaller battery that doesn’t explode.

The ill-fated device was previously recalled and later, banned in flights. Samsung promises that its new version is safer and recycling the massive amount of electronic parts is eco-friendly.

Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition Features

The differences between the Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition and the Galaxy Note7 only include the battery and software. It has a smaller 3200mAh battery and Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Bixby.

It still has a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with curved edges, 12 Megapixel main camera with OIS and a 5 Megapixel selfie snapper. There’s also an iris scanner, S Pen support and fast battery charging.

The Exynos 8890 Octa runs the show with 4GB of RAM and a water resistant body. Color options include blue, silver, gray and black.

Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition Price and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition has an official price of 699,600 Won in South Korea. This translates to a little under ₱31,000.00 here in the Philippines.

However, it’s not yet clear if this device will be sold outside Samsung’s home country. It’s worth noting though that the Samsung Galaxy Note8 will be launched very soon.
