Along with the MyPhone Rio 2, MyPhone also announced a more affordable new smartphone called the Rio 2 Lite that runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

The MyPhone Rio 2 Lite has a smaller 4.7-inch display and 2MP front camera (Rio 2 has 5-inch and 5MP respectively). Nevertheless, it also has an 8MP main camera and the Rio series’ signature color options.

A noteworthy feature of the MyPhone Rio 2 Lite is its main camera – an 8MP snapper with an image sensor from Samsung and covered by a Blue Glass filter. This should ensure high quality photos and videos from this smartphone.

It runs on a 1.3GHz quad core processor (presumably the same as that on the Rio 2). There’s no info about the RAM, battery and amount of internal storage though.

It has a promo price of only ₱3,999.00 while the original suggested retail price is ₱4,599.00.
