Apple has officially introduced the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and Apple Watch Series 2 in a dedicated event in San Francisco. Let’s focus on the iPhone 7 first.

Of course, it boasts several new features such as a faster processor, thinner and water resistant body, more color options, dual stereo speakers and a better set of cameras.

The iPhone 7 has no 3.5mm audio jack. Instead, the included earpods connect directly to the phone’s lightning port. This is one of its most controversial features.

It’s equipped with a 12 Megapixel camera at the back with an f/1.8 aperture, backside illuminated image sensor and quad-LED flash for improved low light photo quality. It also has optical image stabilization to prevent video shakiness.

On the front is a 7 Megapixel camera also with a backside illuminated image sensor and uses the screen as its flash.

The iPhone 7 runs on Apple’s A10 fusion chipset with a 64-bit architecture with an imbedded M10 motion co-processor, 2GB of RAM and iOS 10 as its operating system out of the box.

It can connect to 4G LTE networks with a single nano SIM, dual band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 wireless technologies. It also supports NFC with Apple Pay.

There are three variants of the iPhone 7 based on built-in storage – 32GB, 128GB and 256GB. However, the Jet Black color option only comes in 128GB and 256GB variants.

For the first time, the iPhone 7 has a splash and water resistant enclosure with an ingress protection rating of IP67. The home button has also been re-engineered to provide a haptic feedback when tapped making the users feel like they are pressing a physical button.

It measures 7.1mm in thickness and the ugly antenna lines of previous iPhone models are now placed on the sides for a better aesthetic.

Battery life is said to be longer by 2 hours compared to the iPhone 6s while its stereo speakers will surely delight a lot of users.
