Along with the launching of MIUI 7, Xiaomi also introduced two new smartphones – the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and a slightly faster Prime version.
It runs on MediaTek’s Helio X10 chipset with eight (8) 64-bit CPU cores all running at 2.0GHz! That’s the same processor as that on the HTC One M9+ and Meizu MX5.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has a 5.5-inch full HD display that can turn down its brightness to as low as 1cd/m2. This makes it perfect for reading in the dark without straining the eye.
Its Helio X10 chipset comes with a PowerVR G6200 graphics processor and 2GB of RAM. It also has Android Lollipop with MIUI 7 on the software side keeping things running smoothly.

A 13MP camera at the back with a Sony image sensor and quick phase detection autofocus takes care of general photography. On the other side is a 5MP snapper for selfies with the usual image enhancements.
There’s 16GB of built-in storage, microSD slot for up to 32GB memory cards and USB OTG for connecting thumb drives.

It is a dual SIM smartphone with 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It also has an infrared blaster enabling it to function as a remote controller.
A 3,060mAh battery powers the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. Take note that this is completely removable!
Its official price in China is around ₱6,500! That’s insanely low but expect this to cost around ₱8,000 here in the Philippines.
