Microsoft announced a new feature phone called the Nokia 215 which boasts mobile internet connectivity at a very low price.

For $29 or roughly ₱1,300, you can already browse the internet using Opera Mini on the Nokia 215. You can even access Facebook and Twitter using the pre-installed social media apps.

The Nokia 215 follows the tried and tested candy bar design of old Nokia phones making it durable, colorful and comfortable to use.

It has a colored 2.4-inch TFT display with a resolution of 320 x 240 Pixels and runs on Nokia’s Series 30+ software platform.

There’s a whooping 8MB of RAM and a microSD card slot which is required before you can use the VGA camera at the back of the Nokia 215.

Nokia 215 color options
Nokia 215 is available in green, black and white.

In case you’re wondering how the Nokia 215 connects to the internet, it’s limited to 2G GPRS and EDGE networks. Don’t worry though because these will be sufficient.

An interesting feature of the Nokia 215 is the notifications when there is a new message on the pre-installed Facebook Messenger. Receiving notifications can usually be achieved only with smartphones.

It also has a torch on its top side and a 1,100mAh battery underneath that can last up to 21 days on standby or 50 hours of continuous music playback.
