Starmobile Icon Specs, Price and Availability - Quad Core Jelly Bean Phone with 5 MP Autofocus BSI Camera

Starmobile Icon - Starmobile's First Quad Core Android Phone

After the two other mobile phone companies, MyPhone and Cherry Mobile released quad core Android phones, Starmobile finally stepped up its rows of Android phones with Icon - it's first quad core Android phone.

Starmobile Icon will run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on a 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor and 1 GB of RAM. It features a scratch resistant 4.5 inch IPS display with graphics powered by Adreno 203 GPU.

The most interesting feature of Starmobile Icon is its cameras. It has an 8 MP main camera that has autofocus and BSI features. Aside from that, its front facing camera is a whooping 5 MP with autofocus and BSI technology too!

You'll finally be able to take good quality photos of your face using the front facing camera of Starmobile Icon.

Here's the Complete Specs of Starmobile Icon:

  • 1.2 GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225Q Processor
  • Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
  • Adreno 203 GPU
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 4.5 Inch Dragontrail, IPS, qHD (540 x 960) display

  • 5 MP Autofocus Front Camera with BSI
  • 4 GB Internal Memory
  • microUSB up to 32GB
  • Dual Sim/Dual Standby

Starmobile Icon Looks Good, Hopefully Not too Expensive

The folks at unbox.ph has taken a first look at Starmobile Icon and their pictures show a nice matte black finish. This is refreshing since the recent phones release by Starmobile's competitors look shiny.

It also reminds me of my Cherry Mobile Flare but with three capacitive buttons instead of four. The icons are stock Android Jelly Bean ones which should be good for most people.

Starmobile Icon is slightly thicker at 10.5 mm but that would be fine since you know there's a quad core monster inside.

Starmobile has a history of releasing smartphones with higher prices. Hopefully, it would be way less than ₱9,999.00 since word spread that it will be priced lower than ₱10,000.00.
