The Successor to the MyPhone MyPad

MyPhone surely releases products with good quality. It’s first tablet, the MyPhone MyPad was a good deal at its time. Now, MyPhone has the successor to MyPad – the MyPad 2.

Can this android tablet from MyPhone impress us with its specs and features? There’s only one way to find out. First, take a look at this:

Here’s how MyPhone MyPad 2 looks like:

A Better Android Tablet than the First MyPad

MyPhone definitely upgraded their android tablet offering with the MyPad 2. It is now faster with a 1.2 GHz processor and a 320 MHz GPU. This is good news for those who want a gaming tablet at a cheap price.

MyPad 2 is already running on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich which means a more fluid operation compared to the sluggish Android Gingerbread of the first MyPad. I personally did not like MyPad 1 because it lags even when you try to swipe to another home screen. This should be smooth with MyPad 2.

MyPad 2 is also able to play HD videos and games up to 30 frames per second. That’s a stunning video and gaming experience that teens and kids will love.

This one is probably the most notable feature of MyPad 2 – its 3000 mAh battery. That’s a lot of power storage right there. That makes charging your MyPad 2 fewer times, maybe just once a day or in two days if it is not used that much.

Some Problems Still Hunts MyPad 2

MyPad 2 is still a WiFi only device. No bluetooth or 3G. Todays tablets are boasting their ability to make calls but MyPad 2 is not there yet.

It also has no FM radio or mobile TV. But you can listen to music and watch movies.

It’s camera is only 2MP and thus cannot capture high quality pictures. Most tablets are like this.

MyPad 2 Verdict

I never thought that MyPhone would be serious with tablets because it just made a single model – the MyPad. Unlike Cherry Mobile and Starmobile that created a lineup of different Android tablets, MyPhone featured only one.

Although MyPad 2 is not the best Android tablet today, it is still worth noting that it is another good quality gadget at a price that Filipinos can afford.
