Lenovo Ideaphone A800

Lenovo Ideaphone A800 for the budget conscious android fan.

Lenovo is surely up to something in the smartphone business with its release of the Lenovo A800 at ₱ 6,990.00 only. They are not only catering those who can buy 20K+ smartphones, they are also care about people who want to enjoy these phones but prevented by their budget.

Lenovo A800 features a fast and smooth operation with its 1.2 GHz dual core processor on a 4.5 inches IPS capacitive display running Android Ice Cream Sandwich with preloaded software to edit and create documents and spreadsheets.

I like Lenovo Ideaphone A800 because…

Sturdy Built
This is first quality that I like about Lenovo Smartphones. Holding Lenovo A800 in your hands feels like its a rock solid phone despite the fact that it has a plastic cover. This is because Lenovo smatphones are made by Lenovo itself, not just a rebranded phone unlike other local brands.

Smooth Operation
There’s nothing more discouraging than a phone that lags every now and then. Lenovo A800 operates smoothly thanks to its Mediatek MTK 6577 Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. Add to that a PowerVR SGX531 graphics processing unit and 512 of RAM and you’ll have the best android experience.

Animations and Transitions works like a charm in the user interface with its round icons customized by Lenovo.

Lenovo A800 Comes with Preloaded Apps
Although other phones also come with preloaded apps, Lenovo A800 offers the most useful apps to us, users. It already has an AVG Antivirus, Kingsoft Office that can edit and create documents and spreadsheets, Lenovo Power Manager and others.

Above Normal Battery Life
This is a big plus for Lenovo A800. Most smartphones are equipped with 1500 mAh battery only. Hoever, Lenovo A800 has a 2000 mAh battery.

This makes Lenovo A800 last longer even if you use it for gaming, WiFi connection, watching movies or calling.

Clear Sound from Loudspeaker
Lenovo A800 will also impress you with its loudspeaker that plays music clearly unlike other phones that play cracked sound. This is because it is equiped with Smart Sound technology. Rockers should definitely check out this phone.

Lenovo A800 is a Good Phone but…

Lenovo A800 Sample Picture
Photo taken using a Lenovo A800 by welscua.

The lower price tag of the Lenovo A800 means that there must be a compromise and the camera took that. It has a 5 MP autofocus camera at the back that shoots well in daylight conditions but cannot shoot properly at night because it does not have an LED flash.

The front camera is noexistent. This means you’ll have a problem making video calls.

But if you don’t make video calls like me, the camera at the back is enough for your food photography needs. Check the sample picture at the right. It even shoots with High Dynamic Range and Panorama Effects.

Are you going to buy the Lenovo Ideaphone A800?

I recommend the Lenovo A800 for people who want to own a smartphone to experience Android but with a constrained budget. You’ll love the sturdiness of this phone, its music, preinstalled apps and casual food photography.

Are you going to buy it?
